About Us
I am a Small Breeder only 100 birds and 17 Years of Experience with birds. Specializing in Cockatiels Normal to Rare Mutations All birds
get banded, this is my own band.
I have been breeding Cockatiels for over 15 years. I started Breeding when we visited one pet store to buy a pet bird. We picked out a Cinnamon Pearl/lutino, and a Pied. This was a Xmas present to me from my husband. Most of my birds are babies of babies of babies, from these two birds.
After visiting a aviary in Porterville, CA which we drove by, I decided that I wanted to raise Cockatiels. So I started looking for older birds for breeders, reading as many books that I could find on how to. Went back to that aviary and purchased one female from them that they told me was a male, and of course after the first clutch of babies I was hooked. I made many mistakes buying birds at first. I have always been interested in the mutations. I'm always looking for something new. The Whiteface are a favorite of mine and I have ended up with Whiteface pearls. Then along came the Yellowface, from Germany, I purchased two of those, and then I heard of the Pastelface and the Dominant Silver from England, of course, they are on my wish list. And, in 2003 I purchased 2 Silvers, both are Male Dominant Silver. I have named Casper and Whiteknight and in a two years will be old enough to breed. 2007, my silvers are breeding.
I do have a yellowcheek pearl/wf which popped up in my Aviary. Someone tells me I have a Chocolate, never heard of it. Through my breeding of Cockatiels and the Internet, I have also discovered one of my Lutino Whitefaces or Albino is really a fallow. It took a while for the colors to develop. I have made many friends in various parts of the country with helping people with their cockatiels. I love helping others with their Tiel questions. In September of 2003 I moved husband, birds and me to Jal, New Mexico. Down where the air is clean and there is lots of sand and snakes. So the birds and I will be learning new things how to deal with cold and birds, heat and birds. I'm down close to the Texas boarder off in the wilds so we will have new animals to deal with. And, in September of 2006, I learned to deal with snakes in the aviary. Not fun, as long as my Husband can catch them. We've had 3 in the aviary this year. None were harmed. The birds seem to know when not to get on the floor. And I look before I enter now. They seem to go right through the bars sideways. I have also added new pictures of the pastel faces that are now growing up, and in another two years I should be getting really great colors. I really like the lutino pastels. I have photographed my birds for myself from the beginning. I like the action photos. Most of my rare mutations are breeders so it takes time to get the pictures just right. Ever tell a bird to stand still? Or "hey baby smile," Mommy wants to take your picture?
2007, we are still here dealing with weather hot or cold and everything in between. We have been shipping our birds to various places when weather permits. That is in the fall and spring. We are now getting some pretty pearls, yc pearls and pastels. Birds are learning to live in the desert. So am I. You can view some of my babies that are ready for sale at: "http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumList?u=4453738" Enjoy my babies.
10/2007, we now have a pearl that when he loses it's pearls turns white, DOM silver babies, sf silver, cinnamon wf pearl pieds and wf pearl pieds, to name of few of our rares. This year we were luckly no snakes.
